February

February was a fun month at our house. Julia started becoming much more animated and playful. Lauren continues to love school and had a great Valentines party with her friends. She also started a swimming class every Tuesday where she makes crafts, has a swim lesson and then gets to play on the indoor swim playground - so much fun.  We are very lucky in that the city we live in (Frisco) has alot of great facilities for residents such as the swimming pools. Here are a few pics from  February.

January

It's been a fun month at our house.  Lauren went back to school after the holidays and was sooo ready to be back.  She loves her friends and teachers.  I started her in swim lessons and she's doing really well. Hoping to have her swimming without floaties by summer.  Julia also took her first swim, which lasted about 3 minutes.  She wasn't a huge fan just yet.  We're still doing our playgroup on Thursdays.  The weather was so nice last week, we were able to go to the park.  Julia is growing like a weed.  She's up to eating two meals a day and has so far tried rice, oatmeal, peas, sweet potato and prunes.  Unfortunately, she likes to suck her thumb after every bite, so it gets a bit messy.  She'll go next week for her 6 month check up.  Lauren had another ear infection and 2 rounds of antibiotics.  Hoping those will come to an end here soon.  We're all looking forward to spring, which comes so much earlier in Texas.  Then we'll be dreading summer :)

Back to work

I started back to work this week. I'm going to be working just one night a week at Baylor Frisco. It is a beautiful and small hospital just around the corner. For now I'm doing nursery, but hope to soon float to postpartum and L&D. The first couple weeks I'm orienting on day shift, which means James has gotten to spend alot of "quality" time with the girls. I think he has a whole new appreciation for stay at home moms. They have loved having him at home more though. Next week I'll start my night shifts. Wish me luck staying up all night after 6 months of normal sleeping.

Julia 4 month appt

Julia had her 4 month doctor appt on Wed.  Overall she is doing good. She hitting all her developmental milestones like smiling, laughing and turning over.  The only slight concern was her growth. She went from the 50th% across the board to the 20-25th%. However, looking back, this is exactly what her sister did, so I'm not too worried.  Anyone who's met my children know they are HUGE pukers - the result of reflux. We've had Julia on Zantac, but due to her weight, we're going to switch her to Prevacid and see if that helps.  She's also going through a rough sleep patch, waking up 2-3 times a night.  We're going to move her into her crib this weekend, so hoping that might actually help the sleep situation.  Combined with Lauren waking up once a night, sleep is a pretty elusive thing right now.  Oh well - there's always Starbucks!!

Eat up!!

Julia

With all the craziness over the last few months, I didn't get to post many pics of Julia's early days. Here's a little photo trip of her first 3 months.

Fall festival and Nature trail

We had a fun weekend as we continue our trek to find new activities in DFW. We discovered a great 800-acre nature preserve with great walking trails right in the heart of Plano. You would never know you're so close to the city! Lauren enjoyed throwing sticks I'm the lake and swinging from the tree vines.

We also attended the fall festival in our neighborhood. Lauren has definitely gotten her share of petting zoos this year!

Halloween 2011

Well we had a fun filled Halloween weekend. Lauren loved dressing up and really got into Trick or Treating (until it got dark and she ran home scared).  She definitely enjoyed the candy! Julia even went trick or treating for awhile and I think she really enjoyed it, or else she just like the fist she chewed on the whole time.  Here's our little pirate and skeleton.

"I won a cupcake at the Halloween Party!!"

"Who cares about cupcakes - I've got a fist!"

"Argh matey!"

Fall Fun

We've tried to get out and enjoy some nice Texas weather these last few weeks.  It's a little warmer than our Colorado falls, but we've found some fun stuff to do anyways.  Lauren's school had a very busy month with her fall festival and a Hero Parade.  We also found a fun pumpkin patch that had lots of "Lauren sized" rides.
