Julia 4 month appt

Julia had her 4 month doctor appt on Wed.  Overall she is doing good. She hitting all her developmental milestones like smiling, laughing and turning over.  The only slight concern was her growth. She went from the 50th% across the board to the 20-25th%. However, looking back, this is exactly what her sister did, so I'm not too worried.  Anyone who's met my children know they are HUGE pukers - the result of reflux. We've had Julia on Zantac, but due to her weight, we're going to switch her to Prevacid and see if that helps.  She's also going through a rough sleep patch, waking up 2-3 times a night.  We're going to move her into her crib this weekend, so hoping that might actually help the sleep situation.  Combined with Lauren waking up once a night, sleep is a pretty elusive thing right now.  Oh well - there's always Starbucks!!

Eat up!!

Julia

With all the craziness over the last few months, I didn't get to post many pics of Julia's early days. Here's a little photo trip of her first 3 months.

Fall festival and Nature trail

We had a fun weekend as we continue our trek to find new activities in DFW. We discovered a great 800-acre nature preserve with great walking trails right in the heart of Plano. You would never know you're so close to the city! Lauren enjoyed throwing sticks I'm the lake and swinging from the tree vines.

We also attended the fall festival in our neighborhood. Lauren has definitely gotten her share of petting zoos this year!

Halloween 2011

Well we had a fun filled Halloween weekend. Lauren loved dressing up and really got into Trick or Treating (until it got dark and she ran home scared).  She definitely enjoyed the candy! Julia even went trick or treating for awhile and I think she really enjoyed it, or else she just like the fist she chewed on the whole time.  Here's our little pirate and skeleton.

"I won a cupcake at the Halloween Party!!"

"Who cares about cupcakes - I've got a fist!"

"Argh matey!"

Sisterly love - until the doorbell rang and Lauren ran off

Fall Fun

We've tried to get out and enjoy some nice Texas weather these last few weeks.  It's a little warmer than our Colorado falls, but we've found some fun stuff to do anyways.  Lauren's school had a very busy month with her fall festival and a Hero Parade.  We also found a fun pumpkin patch that had lots of "Lauren sized" rides.

Fall Festival

Lauren's school had their fall festival yesterday. She had a blast. They had bounce houses, petting zoo, face painting, a dunking booth and Lauren's favorite - snow cones. Julia slept through the whole thing.

Update on the girls

In my effort to get caught up on the blog, here's a little update on what the girls are up to.

Lauren is going to St. Philips preschool 3 days a week. She absolutely loves it. She has a really good friend in her class. They hold hands everywhere they go, hug each other when they meet and go home and sit together in chapel. She is really happy there which makes mom really happy. She's also going to soccer once a week. She likes it but I think after she turns 3 we'll go back to swim lessons. She's loving being near Nana and Grandpa (so are mom and dad - free babysitting is awesome!).

Julia is doing great. She's starting to smile, laugh and coo. We started her on Zantac and that seems to have helped her fussiness and massive spitting up. She's sleeping 6-7 hrs at night. Now if we can just get the dogs to do that we might actually get some sleep!

Here's a few more recent pics...

We're Back!

After a looong absence, I am attempting to revitalize the Moss Family blog. Since my last post, we have added a new member to the family, moved back to Texas and James has started a new job. We've been a little busy!

I would like to officially introduce Julia Moss to our blog. Julia was born August 5 at 5:08 pm weighing 7lbs 4oz. She is now 11 weeks old and is doing great. She is much calmer than her sister was which is ironic considering she will probably be the redhead in the family (along with her dad of course). She weighed a whopping 10lbs 8oz at 9 weeks.

So far so good in Texas. We're renting in Frisco while we figure out exactly where we want to live. Lauren is going 3 days a week to a preschool she loves!

James is working too hard and readjusting to corporate. Hopefully things calm down for him soon. James's mom was with us during the move and we couldn't have done it without her.

So here we are in Texas again with two little girls. Hopefully I will be better going forward with the blog. Here's a few pics to get caught up.

Horse Farm

OK - so I am an online deal addict (ie groupon, weeklyplus, etc.). Sometimes some really unique things come across and I like to try them out. I recently bought tickets for a day at a horse rescue farm near our house. It turned out to be a ton of fun! Lauren loved the petting area, her horsey ride and of course her hot dog lunch. Check out our YouTube for some hilarious videos.

Another great Easter with our family in Dallas. Lauren loved picking up eggs and of course eating candy.

Easter Bunny

Each year Lauren has loved our Easter Bunny visits. This year was no exception. She waited patiently while Bunny was on a "carrot break" and was so excited to finally get her turn to sit and talk with him. Check out the youtube for her conversation.

A Day at the Zoo and Build-a-Bear too!

Last weekend we took advantage of a beautiful day and headed to the zoo. Lauren enjoyed all the animals, but really just loved running around (usually away from us). Later that day we went to pick out a bunny at Build-a-Bear. She had a blast giving her bunny a bath.
